Build up Axial 2.2 Class XR10 Comp Rig!
I am running this 2.2 comp rig from early this year. Concept of this rig is to be the most LCG rig in the world and also the belly hight!
Its been almost half year since I built this rig, so I need maintenance before I go for the Nationals! Lets start!
I started to re-do from the rear axle.
Bearings are not working good, I need to change!
This is extream ball bearings, using 850 + adapter, which is so light!
I determine where rocks and axles are hitting, I decided to mod a little!
I modify C-Hub, now I can put flat head screw!
I also grind C-hub, finished! So smooth and I think it will work really good!
Using alum rodend balls to lighten the rig!
I got to reach to the gearbox, I need to see if the gears and bearings are ok or not.
Taking off the gearboxx!!!
Double ball bearing mods working great!
Gearbox case is not good! I need to change!
Now I changed to the almost new cover!
All bearings are new, now all refreshed!
Traxxas #5525 rodends, I mods some!
Grind the rodend and link together to have much smoother run on the rocks!
Steering rodends are also loosen too much, need to change to the new ones!
I used super glue to hold Dlux rodend cover,
Front lower link's rodends are so damaged, so I changed all!
I also chenged the shock's rodend ball.
I found the crack around the carbon chassis!! I need to make new chassis!
New servo is on!
Need to maintenance front gearbox, so I am taking off the screws!
Gearbox, gears are ok? or not?
Oh! one of the bearing is dead! all balls are out and 22T and final gears are so damaged!!
Final gear looks so bad, I changed to the new one!
My XR10 is so much taken a part! I need to hurry!
All done except chassis!
Now, lets move on to tires!
Going to use new tires!
I always use old tires, but this year, I am going to use new tires!!
No mods to the tires.
Good looking tire air holes!
Cutting sidewalls!
Getting ligher!
I also cut the rib inside of the tires!
Much much lighter!
Grind the sidewalls!
Very thin!
Its all done, so much ligher than the stock tires!
New steering rods!
New chassis in on the way!
Use diamond cutter, very easy, takes only half hours!
Looks good?
So beautiful!
Last time to see the old chassis!
Total weight of my chassis including all the necessary hardware!
Oh, forgot to add one post!
I want to make beautiful sidewinder micro!
Here we go!
Mounting the micro!
Wiring and building the chassis at the same time!
Need post to the rear end!
Rear micro is now on!
Skid plate is cutting down from leftover!
So good, I think this will work like a hell!
All done! Body is arriving soon! cool body, I did my best for the 2012 Nationals!
My XR10 is the total weight of 2,290g. Not much exciting weight but its so feels good driving it! I am willing to see how I can do at the Nationals!
