Traxxas TRX-4 Mods! Installing Rock Metal Front Bumper!
Modifying Traxxas TRX-4!
At this time, I will install Rock Metal front bumper for Traxxas TRX-4 to my TRX-4!
1.Taking off the current front bumper
Current configuration is stock bumper + Warn 9.5cti Mini Winch + Aluminum Bumper mount.RC4WD's Aluminum front bumper mount is designed for Trail Finder 2, so need some work to put stock bumper to it.
2. Taking off the winch from bumper!
Winch is screw on with 4 screws, I have made modification to stock bumper to put the winch on.
3. Taking off the base plate.
Stock winch base plate is on the stock bumper as you can see.
4. put parts onto rock metal bumper
Edging parts are easy to take off if you use cutter. cut it on the firm plate, if you cut on the top of soft surface, metal parts going to bend...
5. Put metal plate to the bumper
Putting metal plate to bumper using 1mm screws, but holes are not accurate position, so I decided to re-screw using 2.. screws!
6. Installing winch to the bumper
There is winch plate comes with bumper kit! No hustle, easy installation.
7. Putting on the winch roller to bumper
Also, nothing special, great looking bumper by the way!!
8.Modifying the way you mount winch!
May cause trouble when you want to pull, so I decided to install using 2.6mm screws to hold winch!
9. All done!
Looks great with this bumper and light guards!
This bumper's sides are good angled, when you approach rock, this angle helps a lot!
I am dying to run this rig ASAP! Before that, I will install rear bumper and side steps...!
