CKRC "DROID" Chassis Kit for the Berg V1

The CKRC Rock-It chassis has shown to be a proven winner and national champion, but what does it take to go to the next level?  

DROID DOES!

_Class leading 3 1/4" to 4" of adjustable belly clearance.
_Super low center of gravity. The chassis sits at 1 3/4" tall!
_The absolute lightest weight chassis and shock set up on the market. 
_Improved link geometry due to our Patent Pending Lift kit brackets.
_Also allows for a longer static wheelbase than other chassis. 
_Only 1 13/16" belly width.

The final chassis is the result of testing multiple designs over the last few months. Our goal was to design a chassis that gained performance in all the crucial areas, without having to sacrifice performance in others. 

Advantage 1:
 A 1 13/16" chassis width.  This keeps the lower links more parallel while keeping the chassis from getting caught up through the rocks, All the chassis mounting holes were also machined flat. Another area that needed attention was the skid plate. The Droid includes a smooth machined 3/8" thick Delrin skid plate. The skid plate is made from some of the slickest Delrin we could find.

Advantage 2:
Our Patent Pending RC Lift Kits. When you raise the belly of a crawler your links become less horizontal with the ground. In turn when you climb a rock, the links have a tendency to bind the natural upward travel. Instead of going up they are trying to bind back or down. This doesn’t allow the shocks to work correctly, raises the center of gravity when it binds, and is tough on parts. Our new kit addresses all these issues.

Advantage 3: Longer wheelbase. The new USRCCA wheelbase rules say the vehicle must be 12.5” within the entire suspension cycle. When chassis of other designs are put through the cycle to be checked, these lower links flatten out to horizontal and lengthen the wheelbase substantially. With horizontal links, our new chassis sits at a belly height of 3 5/8” to 3 ¾” yet maintains a 12 1/4" to 12 3/8” wheelbase until cycled. When cycled it cycles to 12.5”. Most all high clearance chassis we saw were set up at 11 3/4" to 12” before cycling. Our lift raises the links 8mm to compensate for the additional belly height added.
